Minervini's checklist for confirming a stock is in a Stage 2 uptrend — the structural foundation required before evaluating any entry point.

Definition
The Minervini Trend Template is a structural checklist used to identify stocks already in strong uptrends. It looks for price strength, bullish moving-average alignment, an upward-sloping long-term trend, and a stock trading near its 52-week high rather than buried near its lows.
In Kasauti terms, the Minervini Trend Template is not about prediction. It is a way to filter for stocks that are already demonstrating trend quality. Typical checks include price above the 50, 150 and 200-day moving averages, the 50-day above the 150 and 200-day, the 150-day above the 200-day, and the 200-day itself trending upward.

Trend Template
This version is intentionally simplified for the glossary. The idea is to show the logic behind the template: strong price, moving-average alignment, and favourable 52-week location.
The template also cares about location: strong candidates are usually closer to their 52-week highs than to their 52-week lows. That does not automatically create a buy point. It simply means the stock has passed an important structural test and may now deserve deeper study through bases, pivots, relative strength, and risk control.
The Trend Template primarily uses monthly and weekly timeframes to assess the long-term trend of an NSE stock. It checks that the price is above its 10-month and 5-month exponential moving averages. This longer horizon filters out short-term noise and aligns with position trading horizons.
Yes, the Trend Template only confirms the presence of a trend, not its quality or sustainability. A stock may pass the template but have weak volume, poor relative strength, or be near a resistance zone. Therefore, the Trend Template is a necessary but not sufficient condition for a position trade.
